چکیده

We propose methods to solve time-varying, sensor and actuator (SaA) selection problems for uncertain cyberphysical systems. We show that many SaA selection problems for optimizing a variety of control and estimation metrics can be posed as semidefinite optimization problems with mixed-integer bilinear matrix inequalities (MIBMIs). Although this class of optimization problems is computationally challenging, we present tractable approaches that directly tackle MIBMIs while providing both upper and lower bounds and lead to effective heuristics for SaA selection. The upper and lower bounds are obtained via successive convex approximations and semidefinite programming relaxations, respectively, and selections are obtained with a novel slicing algorithm from the solutions of the bounding problems. Custom branch-and-bound and combinatorial greedy approaches are also developed for a broad class of systems for comparison. Finally, comprehensive numerical experiments are performed to compare the different methods and illustrate their effectiveness.

A Hybrid Trust Management Framework for Wireless Sensor and Actuator Networks in Cyber-Physical Systems

To secure a wireless sensor and actuator network (WSAN) in cyber-physical systems, trust management framework copes with misbehavior problem of nodes and stimulate nodes to cooperate with each other. The existing trust management frameworks can be classified into reputation-based framework and trust establishment framework. There, however, are still many problems with these existing trust manag...

Cyber physical systems based model-driven development for precision agriculture

In the last few years, a paradigm shift has been identified, from Complex Adaptive Systems towards Internet of Things and Cyber-Physical Systems of Systems. Systems that can integrate physical with virtual environments are creating complex systems. By connecting sensor data, actuator systems within a virtual environment information analysis is enhanced. The focus of the present paper is to disc...

The Impact of Model Uncertainty on Spatial Compensation in Active Structural Acoustic Control

Turbulent boundary layer (TBL) noise is considered a primary factor in the interior noise experienced by passengers aboard commercial airliners. There have been numerous investigations of interior noise control devoted to aircraft panels; however, practical realization is a challenge since the physical boundary conditions are uncertain at best. In most prior studies, pinned or clamped boundary ...
